Our Youth Show Camp provides an opportunity for youth ages 6-17 to learn about performing on the stage.

2021 YOUTH SHOW CAMP

JUNIOR YOUTH SHOW CAMP

Ages 6-10

10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

SENIOR YOUTH SHOW CAMP

Ages 11-17

1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Learn show tunes from our talented music director from popular songs to Broadway and Disney.

DANCE

Experience different styles of dance taught by one of our choreographers throughout the week.

COSTUME

Understand the inner workings of the theatre from costumes, to makeup, set pieces and behind the scenes.

PERFORM

Take the stage for a performance for your most loyal fans (family!) on the final Friday of camp.

SCHEDULE

Youth Show Camp runs Monday through Friday. Separate workshops for the first four days with a large group session, dress rehearsal, and final showcase on Friday afternoon.


Juniors (ages 6-10): Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Seniors (ages 11-17): Monday – Thursday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

All students meet on Friday at 2:30 p.m.


Final showcase is Friday at 6:00 p.m. – parents and special guests are invited to attend at no charge.

2021 CAMP THEME

TRAVELIN’ TUNES

Our Juniors will have plenty of singing and dancing opportunities as they follow the music with Tarzan, Lion King and Under the Sea.


Seniors will learn to take the stage in a Broadway-style through hands-on experience in song, dance, costumes and staging.


A Master Class for Seniors is included offering audition techniques and opportunities.

COSTS

Cost is $150/camper. Each additional sibling is $100. Please ask about available scholarships.

Youth Show Camp Music Director

Karen McCurdy is a retired elementary school teacher, high school drill team adviser and high school band manager. She has been a member of Vaud-Villities since 2007 and has enjoyed performing in the chorus, small ensembles and dance routines. She has been involved with Youth Show Camp for many years and felt honored to be appointed as Director. She loves to watch the youth as they become performers.

Valerie Tanner is a professional vocal coach with over 25 years of teaching experience. She introduced hundreds of young singers to the joy of performing and has been rewarded with many wonderful memories along the way. Valerie’s greatest joy is watching the students overcome stage fright or shyness and blossom on the stage!
